| The Campground A unique and astonishing river environment on Trenton Island in the mighty Mississippi at Red Wing, Minnesota. Bob, Margi, and Nea Moyer proudly offer 108 campsites, and 54 boat slips with breathtaking scenery and up close river views. 87 of the campsites offer direct frontage to the river. The sites are spacious, lying under the purview of the famous Barns Bluff, and looking across the main barge channel of the Mississippi River to the main street of historic Red Wing, MN. Wooded, rustic, and friendly... yet only 45 minutes to the Minneapolis airport and Mall of America! It's also only 4 minutes to downtown Red Wing, yet in it's own world in Wisconsin. RV SITES The campground has 108 RV sites. The sites vary from directly on the main channel to no river frontage to back channel only. Some have grass, some have gravel. All have drinking water, fire pits, a picnic table and 20, 30 & 50 amp electric service. We do not have on-site sewer because we are in the flood plain, but for campers we offer a mobile pump-out service for a fee. The campground has daily, weekly, monthly and seasonal rates (Island Campground's season runs from May 1st to November 1st). Please see the rate page for more information on the RV camping rates and the facilities page for the details on what amenities the campground has. For reservations call: 715-222-1808. TENTING SITES The Island Campground also has an area for tenting. The campground does not take reservations for the tenting area - as if it rains too much the tenting area will flood. The tenting area does not often fill up, so if the weather forecast looks good just come on down. The tenting sites have fire pits and picnic tables. The sites are also within walking distance from the bathrooms and showers. For more information please see the rates page under the category of - sites without on-site power and water. |
